Thurday 12th March 2026 | Cheltenham Festival Daily Horse Racing Tips – The Daily Trio

🐎 Today’s Daily Trio

Overview: It’s a windy day at Cheltenham Festival on the first proper bit of ground we have seen all season, so expect a few funny results. These Daily Trio tips are specifically for the Cheltenham Festival, the biggest week in National Hunt racing and the meeting every jump racing fan builds toward. As always we have three selections for the Daily Trio bet today, but because it’s Cheltenham I’ll share my thoughts on every single race, every day. For those wanting to jump straight to the main three selections, scroll down a bit further.

1:20 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle

Bambino Fever is the short-priced favourite, but we haven’t seen enough to justify the odds. She is priced up by who trains her, not on what she has achieved so far. Carigmoorna Spruce looks a lively each-way play on this ground, but I like one at a big price in this 22-runner lottery. Future Prospect has taken my eye at a price and I think will outrun her odds, but isn’t the selection. Blue Velvet will be a 50/1 shot but improved for the step up to this distance when winning last time out and will carry my money here.

2:40 Mares’ Hurdle

No Lossiemouth this year as the mare won the Champion Hurdle instead. Wodhooh has by far the best form in the race but I can’t back her at odds-on. That puts my choice between Jade De Grugy and Jetara. Jetara shouldn’t be underestimated at around 33/1 and if there were 8 runners for 3 places each way she would be my selection. With only 7 runners though, I’ll be backing Jade De Grugy.

4:00 Ryanair Chase

Confession time — I’m on Jonbon at 16/1 ante-post for this race so there is a lot of pocket talk. Fact To File is the defending champion after hacking up in this last year so deserves his place at the top of the market. I don’t think he will win though. I think Jonbon will finally get his Cheltenham Festival win now he has stepped up in distance.

5:20 Kim Muir

Having a good, proven amateur rider is a must here and Derek O’Connor is a cheat code in this race. He rides Jeriko Du Reponet. Waterford Whispers marginally looks the horse with the best form chance. It looks to be between these two horses, so what do I think is more important here — a top jockey against inexperienced riders or the best horse? I’m choosing jockey. Jeriko Du Reponet is the selection.

🐎 Today’s Daily Trio selections

2:00 Jack Richards Novices’ Chase
I really don’t like the favourite Jordans Cross, and really do like the chances of Regents Stroll. Nicholls has trained him for this race all season. I’m hoping Regents Stroll goes straight to the front and stays there with a Denman-style demolition job.

3:20 Stayers’ Hurdle
A cracking race. Teahupoo has been around forever but is still only 9, and I think has a fantastic chance here. There are a whole heap of horses in behind who are probably Grade 2 horses chancing their luck, but Teahupoo is the proper Grade 1 horse in the race.

4:40 Pertemps Final
After lots of reading form and homework, I have landed on Staffordshire Knot for Gordon Elliott. This horse will have to defy clear top weight, but it’s the clear top weight because it is the best horse in the race. We will get a nice price, around 14/1 at the time of writing.

Daily Trio selections:
2:00 Regents Stroll
3:20 Teahupoo
4:40 Staffordshire Knot

Daily Trio Strategy

What is the Daily Trio strategy?

Our proven betting system is three singles and a treble. As a simple guide:

1 winner = roughly money back
2 winners = profit
3 winners = jackpot

It’s a sustainable way to have a bet every day while keeping the chance of a nice win alive. The key is holding our own with the bookies until we land the day where all three go in — and the treble lands.

Why & how does the Daily Trio strategy work?

  • ~33% strike rate across the year (~1 in 3 winners).
  • Singles are designed to hold stake over time.
  • Profit kicker comes from the treble — that’s the maths working for us.
£
Suggested staking example
Many followers bet 3 × £8 singles and a £6 treble
(total stake £30) — but the choice is yours.
We use the £30 stake for profit/loss calculations. Bet responsibly.
