Our Daily Trio selections for Wednesday 22nd January.
It’s a run of the mill Wednesday in terms of quality, but there is a winner in every race as they say and you get paid out the same amount irrelevant of if it’s a Grade One at Cheltenham or a Class Five at Kempton. I do have a few fancies across the card to keep the interest high.
Enchanted Way returns from six months off the track at Lingfield. The race is very winnable, with the main opposition being Mister McGregor – a fair horse but too short in the betting for his second in what was a weaker race last time, and Naughty Eyes – who took a backwards step last time out. Enchanted Way is a £40k New Bay filly who shaped with a fair bit of promise when second at Epsom in July. She looks the best horse in the race if she takes to the all weather surface. Holly Doyle takes the ride which is no bad thing. Selection: Enchanted Way, 1 point win, 12:55 Lingfield.
Tribal Act is a very interesting son of Sea The Stars who ran better than the finishing position suggested on debut over course and distance. He was getting the hang of the racing game late on, and as a half brother to Glittering Lights and Marching Army, both good 1m horses, we should be seeing this horse in better company in the summer. This is a class 5 race, and I’m very surprised to see him only second in the betting behind an odds-on shot in Sound Janet. Sound Janet isn’t a bad horse at all, but her second on debut at Wolverhampton is not better form than Tribal Act’s and connections reach for a hood which suggests they aren’t too happy with things. Our horse has to give the filly 5 lbs but can do the job. Selection: Tribal Act, 1 point win, 5:30 Kempton.
Far Away West doesn’t look like a good thing on form and was well beaten in a lowly seller last time out at Stratford. The positive is that she has moved yards and is now trained by Dan Skelton. I’d think the Skeltons would pass her over if they didn’t think she could be competitive and this race is a class 5 handicap. I’d expect a good showing first time up for new connections. Looking through the opposition in the race it’s impossible to be confident about any of them, they all look terrible. I’m chancing that she improves beyond recognition and gets herself in the winners enclosure. Selection: Far Away West, 1 point win, 3:58 Catterick.
Also have a 1 point treble on the above.
Happy punting

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.
What is the Daily Trio strategy?
The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!
Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?
Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles.
