Salvatore to reign Supreme
Cheltenham Corner: Ante-post selection.

The Supreme Novices Hurdle at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival hasn’t really caught fire yet in terms of a betting market, which means we get a very nice price compared to what this horse will be on the day if he gets there.
At this stage there isn’t a standout horse, or clear favourite. That could change over the next week as a few horses take the next step on the ladder.
Salvatore Mundi made a reasonable debut in France, finishing second at Auteuil. Trainer Willie Mullins must think he has considerable ability, as his first run for the yard was in the Triumph Hurdle at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival where he finished a fair sixth in heavy ground, not being given a hard time at all.
His next run should make you sit up and take notice. Salvatore Mundi won a reasonable Tipperary maiden hurdle by a staggering 62 lengths. Mullins has kept his powder dry over the wet winter and takes the wraps off him for the Moscow Flyer novice hurdle over two miles this weekend. Assuming he comes through this test, he will be a very short price come the curtain raiser in March.
Salvatore Mundi was foaled on Valentines Day. If he wins here I’ll love him more than the Mrs.
Selection: Salvatore Mundi, 5/1, Supreme Novices Hurdle, 2025 Cheltenham Festival.
