About Kickthebookies
Kickthebookies is the analytical layer of horse racing: the statistics, prices and records behind a race, shown plainly so you can make your own call. It is not a tipping site. We show you the evidence and trust you with the decision.

What we publish
- Today’s racing — every GB and Irish racecard with each runner’s form, the market and our own figures: the KTB Fit Score, KTB Rating and KTB Speed, with odds compared across the bookmakers we list, market movers, non-runners and extra places.
- Results and the archive — results as they are declared, and a stored record of GB, Irish and French racing going back to January 2005, searchable by horse, trainer, jockey and racecourse, each with its own statistics page.
- Our record, win or lose — the top-rated runner in every race is logged against the result and the starting price on KTB Fit Results, measured by fair A/E — actual wins against what the prices expected, with the bookmaker’s margin removed (how we measure it). Nothing is deleted when it loses.
- Tools — the bet calculator, the best payout finder and the betslip.
- Guides — plain-English explanations of odds, bet types, place terms, form and the racecourses, in the racing guides and the racecourse statistics.
What we do not do
- We do not tip. Where a selection appears, it is the output of a published method, shown with its full record, never an instruction to bet.
- We do not use urgency. There are no countdowns, no “lock in this price”, no pressure to act. A price moving is a fact we report, not a reason we give.
- We do not claim more than the number behind a statement. Every figure carries how many runs it rests on and when it was last updated, and a small sample is flagged, never hidden.
- We do not let a bookmaker, a sponsor or a commission shape a figure, an ordering or a verdict.
Editorial standards
- The number is the evidence; the sentence is the message. Every statistic shows its sample size and its as-at time. Where the data is missing, the page says so rather than filling the gap.
- Accuracy first. Results and form come from the official record through a licensed racing data provider; prices come from the bookmakers themselves. When a result is amended, the page is amended.
- Independence. No commercial relationship changes what we show or the order we show it in. The bookmakers we list are listed because they price the race, not because of what they pay.
- Plain English. No jargon without an explanation; every figure with a KTB name has its own explainer page.
- Corrections. If you find an error, tell us (see contact) and we fix it and say so.
Our own figures
Every figure with a KTB name — Fit, Rating, Speed, fair A/E — is computed by us from the official race record, by methods we publish. We do not republish any other publisher’s ratings or comment. Where our figures are tested, the test and its result are published with the figure: see KTB Rating and KTB Speed.
How the site is paid for
Kickthebookies is free to use. Some links to bookmakers are affiliate links: if you open an account through one, we may be paid a commission, at no cost to you. It never changes a figure we publish, which bookmakers we show, or the order we show them in. Every such link is marked as sponsored in the page’s code and opens the bookmaker’s own site; the price you see is theirs, and prices move, so check before you bet.
Who is behind it
Carl Stoakes — founder and editor. Ex-bookmaker with twenty years in the industry across William Hill, Coral Racing and Paddy Power, trained before the systems automated everything: manual settling, making a price, and the rules of the game are second nature. A lifelong racing and football follower, a syndicate member, and happiest at Cheltenham and Aintree. Kickthebookies is operated by Kickthebookies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16740091; 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA), of which Carl is the founder and director.
Responsible gambling
Betting should be for fun, never a way to make money. Set limits, take breaks and only stake what you can afford to lose. If gambling is affecting you or someone near you, help is free and confidential: see our responsible gambling page for the UK and Irish helplines, self-exclusion and blocking tools. 18+ only.
Common questions
Is Kickthebookies a tipster?
No. We show the statistics, prices and records behind a race and leave the decision to you. Where a selection appears it is the output of a published method, shown with its complete record, win or lose.
Do affiliate links affect what you show?
No. A commission never changes a figure, which bookmakers appear, or the order they appear in. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored in the page’s code.
Where does your data come from?
Race records, form and results come from the official record through a licensed racing data provider; prices come from the bookmakers we list. Every figure with a KTB name is computed by us from that record.
Do you publish your record?
Yes. Every race’s top-rated runner is logged against the result and starting price on KTB Fit Results, and the tests of KTB Rating and KTB Speed are published on their own pages, losers included.
How do I report an error?
Use the contact page. Corrections are made as soon as they are confirmed, and the page says it was corrected.
