Free Daily Tips: 16th February
The 16/1 winner Ventura Dream was the highlight amongst a number of winners yesterday. Hopefully we have a profitable Sunday also.
Musselburgh
2:00 Chichester. Could be the main threat to the odds on favourite Stressfree. Should step up on hurdles debut for Lucinda Russell.
2:30 Jasmine D’airy. Promising efforts in mares novice hurdles and has been found a great opportunity to get her head in front.
3:00 Good Company. Has looked like it needs a step up in trip and gets that today on handicap debut. Encouraging signs when staying on well towards the end at Wetherby last time, suggesting this trip will unlock quite a bit of improvement.
3:30 Minella Youngy. Now 12lb below its last winning mark and was fancied in the market last time out. Could go very well at a nice price.
4:00 Star Vantage. An 18 race maiden but ran very well in pulling clear with a stablemate last time and a repeat of that performance will see him go very close here against a bunch of horses with little scope.
4:30 Jem In Em. Stamina shouldn’t be a problem to this. 3m2f hurdles winner who showed good aptitude for chasing when second at Newcastle. Has been freshened up since and the trainer likes this meeting.
5:00 Skiddaw. A massive price but is fairly treated with the race favourite Heart Above, who beat him last time. Skiddaw has a 7lb pull at the weights.
Punchestown
***Racing at Punchestown has been abandoned today due to the sad news about Michael O’Sullivan’s passing. Thoughts to the family.***
2:10 Waterford Whispers. The form pick, last seen in a grade 1. Remains open to improvement as a chaser.
2:40 Loughglynn. The stable second string but has shown enough to take a race like this and I think has more scope as a chaser than High Class Hero.
3:10 Cleatus Poolaw. Significantly up in trip and is a strong fancy at a nice price. I fancied him yesterday but he was a non runner, saved for this race. Looks favourably treated at the weights.
3:40 C’est Ta Chance. The race favourite William Munny may be more of a reputation horse than one who delivers on the track. C’est Ta Chance‘s Navan run last time was a cracker and he will be tough to beat.
4:10 Dr Eggman. It’s unbelievable that this horse is still a maiden hurdler. Hopefully he won’t be after today. He sets a very high standard and should still have plenty of room for improvement himself.
4:40 Apples In Winter. His handicap run at this course a few weeks back wasn’t a bad run and he can go well at a price.
5:10 Gameofinches. It is a game of inches alright, we have all lost a photo finish by that margin! Paddy Mullins may not have that problem here though as this horse would win by many lengths.
Lingfield
12:52 Express Train. A £120,000 Invincible Spirit colt, related to plenty of useful winners. Andrew Balding can get them ready in debut and neither Winnebago or Dancing Terror set too high a standard.
1:22 Harry Brown. 18 runs since last successful but a previous course winner who should improve from his run here last week.
1:52 Diamondonthehill. Fair form for the grade, makes polytrack debut. Has a great chance if taking to the surface.
2:22 Monomyth. Good second at this course and distance two weeks ago. Rossa Ryan booked. Frankie’s Dream could have reached the end of the hot spell.
2:52 Conquest Of Power. Excellent second last time out, drops in grade here and will take all the beating.
3:22 Brinton. Kept on nicely last week at Wolverhampton and she is showing herself to be consistent. This is an easier race.
3:52 Running The Game. Wasn’t really put in the race by its jockey last time and this Old Gold syndicate horse can get involved here with a better ride.
4:22 Come On John. Proving frustrating but knocking on the door and it will open eventually. This is a poor grade and he has a good chance if going again four days later.
4:52 Rolypolymoly. Needed the reappearance run under a lesser jockey last time out and has Luke Morris this time.
Happy punting
