Free Daily Tips: 4th February

Another cracking day yesterday as we picked eight winners and three non runners. Winners included Golden Maverick at 9/2, Blue Anthem at 5/1, Easter Icon at 15/2, and Ornate at 7/2. Not bad for a quiet Monday.

Todays Selections:

Market Rasen

1:10 Seahouses. Will be an absolutely massive price. This horse is lightly raced and has frankly been crap, but steps up in trip significantly and I’m curious to see if it makes a difference. It needs to transform the horse, but the price is there to take that chance with small stakes. Has no weight with a 7lb claimer.

1:40 I’m a Lumberjack. The race favourite Belliano was purchased for £255k – over a quarter of a million pounds. Quite surprising then that it pitches up in a class 4 novice hurdle at Market Rasen on a Tuesday. He hasn’t done anything wrong, running second behind The New Lion before winning at Ascot, but I don’t think this horse is above average or worth its price tag. I think Alan King’s I’m a Lumberjack is a better horse, and will be backing it despite the trainers poor form.

2:10 Emotional Roller. Won comfortably 13 days ago and I see no reason why this horse won’t double up. Gavroche D’allier is the main danger but is yet to win a race and went backwards last time.

2:40 Adaay Forever. Looked average but has been campaigned for handicaps in its three starts to date and gets his chance today off a fair weight. Visor goes on for handicap debut.

3:10 Hardy Fella. Has been winless for quite a while but returned to form with a good second at Wincanton. Weight won’t be a problem. He needs to back up his run last time out to win this.

3:45 Concetto. Ran a cracker on Boxing Day when last seen running second to a horse who has since completed a hat trick. Drops 1lb. Big price.

4:20 Baby Thyme. Has been entered in better races than this one to make her debut but didn’t end up showing. Tom Cannon had the choice of the stables two runners and goes with this one. Those that have run before don’t set a high standard.

Taunton

1:25 Super Saint. Very big price and supposedly the stable third string in this race. This horse hasn’t made an impact so far but I expect a better showing today. 28/1 overnight price.

1:55 The Widdow Maker. C&D winner, not seen for 706 days. It would take some training performance to bring him back with a win. If fit – big if – it has a good chance at a massive price.

2:25 First Lord De Cuet. Veteran who is past his best and in very poor form currently. If he wakes up and decides he wants to run today then his back form entitles him to win this race. Huge price.

2:55 Viva Valentina. A huge price, thanks mainly to the presence of Anno Power. This Masked Marvel mare will win a race or two and if she shows the form of her Market Rasen run has a chance here.

3:30 Siam Park. I have been waiting for this horse to go chasing. It hasn’t been good over hurdles but showed promise at times. I’d hope he shows fences more respect than hurdles. A double figure price which is appealing.

4:05 Diesel Line. I’m surprised this horse is 11/4 overnight as I’d price it up around 13/8 based on his last run. His rivals aren’t that good.

4:40 Drash On Ruby. Looked better than the finishing position when third on New Years Day. The handicap mark is more than fair and the overnight price of 5/1 looks attractive.

Newcastle

4:30 Midnight Lion. Brings the best form into the race. Four time course winner. Question marks about the others.

5:00 Athollblair Boy. A nine time C&D winner that seems to have a good chance of making it ten if turning out again just three days after a very respectable run.

5:30 Blackjack. A double figure price for this course winner is just too big.

6:00 Beneficiary. Two wins and two seconds from his last four starts. Win at this course five days ago. Jockey takes off 7lb. Comes up against a race favourite in One More Dream that hasn’t troubled a judge in 12 races.

6:30 War And Love. Typical Prescott improver stepping up in trip. We have seen this before haven’t we.

7:00 Dark Kestrel. Likely to get the strong pace he needs to tow him into the race. Will be finishing late.

7:30 Yaahobby. Needs things to drop right and tries again a few days after a waste of a run where he was not put in the race.
