11th Jan: The Daily Trio
It could be a good Saturday of racing this one, although at the time of writing I haven’t got a clue what meetings will beat the weather. I’m hoping for the best.
Hunters Yarn didn’t look ready for his reappearance in the Hilly Way at Cork where he jumped poorly. It was always intended to be a prep run, as much as they say you can’t school a horse in public. This was never going to win against Energumene, Banbridge, Dinoblue, Appreciate It, Ferny Hollow, Blue Lord…… do you see a theme? Bar Banbridge they are all Mullins horses having a pipe opener and making up the race numbers behind their number one Energumene. Today though looks like it could be a target. Paul Townend takes over from Brian Hayes. Race favourite American Mike is about as reliable as a McDonald’s McFlurry machine. Game on. Selection: Hunters Yarn, 1:45 Fairyhouse, 1 point treble.
On April 14th last year a horse made its debut in a 3 mile point on heavy ground at Dromahane. That’s not a light introduction is it, 3 miles on your first run. The horse was towards the back under Derek O’Connor but plugged on to get second, nearest at the line behind an easy winner. That suggests it might want even further, right? Apparently wrong, and who am I to argue with Dan Skelton. The horse makes his rules debut today over only two miles at Ffos Las, and all the noises suggest that it should go very close. I’ll follow the whisper. Selection: Giantsgrave, 4:01 Ffos Las, 1 point win.
Lord Danielson won a race over course and distance at Chelmsford on Thursday and goes again two days later with no penalty. I liked the way he stuck on well in the final furlong and like to back horses turning out again quickly with little or no penalty as it suggests connections want to strike twice whilst the iron is hot. Selection: Lord Danielson, 5:00 Chelmsford, 1 point win.
Also have a 1 point treble.
Happy punting

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.
What is the Daily Trio strategy?
The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!
Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?
Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles
