8th Jan: The Daily Trio

The bad weather continues, I’m sat here shivering in Lincolnshire where they wouldn’t have a hope of staging a race meeting today. It’s a good job we have Kempton, Newcastle and Taunton holding up the fort and ensuring we have a decent days racing. Let’s hope for a few winners to warm us up.

The first selection comes from Newcastle, and specifically the Gosden stable. Fireblade has looked to have the potential for much better races than this one, but just hasn’t finished his races well enough. I have a feeling we will see him to better effect on grass in the spring actually, somewhere like Windsor (so get him in your trackers) but today’s race is winnable. Selection: Fireblade, 2:03 Newcastle, 1 point win.

The next selection has also flattered to deceive, running to a decent standard whilst struggling to actually win. He is consistent at least, finishing in the places most of the time. Largy Force is almost guaranteed to be involved at the finish here, fingers crossed for a win this time. Selection: Largy Force, 1:45 Taunton, 1 point win.

Regular readers may know I’m not a huge fan of David Maxwell as a jockey. He is obviously hugely successful in life and has achieved more than I ever will so hats off to him as a person. I do think though if you pit him against a proper jockey in a finish then he needs to be on a way better horse to get the job done. As it turns out, he could be on the best horse in the 2:45. Joker De Mai is a good horse for hunter chase level and should travel into the home straight on the bridle. Selection: Joker De Mai, 2:45 Taunton, 1 point win. (lost)

Also have a 1 point treble.

Happy punting

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.

What is the Daily Trio strategy?

The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!

Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?

Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles.
