Our Daily Trio selections for Monday 27th January

Our 16/1 antepost selection for the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival ran over the weekend and it was a pleasing run. Iroko was given a tender ride aimed at maintaining his handicap mark, a ride which was that obvious that the stewards took a look and interviewed the jockey. He could have finished much closer that’s for sure. It was the perfect result for us though as the horse is now down to 6/1 in places. Our 16/1 looks great.

Another antepost Cheltenham Festival tip runs today as Maughreen has her first run for over a year. She dotted up in a bumper and looked a seriously good horse. I’ll be hoping she gets the job done today and it’s all systems go for Cheltenham. If she does, we won’t see our 5/1 about any longer! I said in my tip a while back that if she wins her reappearance she will be around even money favourite for the Mares Novice Hurdle. Let’s hope it comes true. She isn’t a bet today though at 4/9 on.

Back to The Daily Trio, it’s fair to say it’s been a poor week results wise. This time of year is always tricky, and we have been unlucky in a lot of races, but we are still in serious profit for January and will absolutely finish January with a profit, which is what the game is all about.

Today’s action comes from Punchestown, Hereford, Wolverhampton, Plumpton and Dundalk. Lots to go at for a Monday!

Paul Nicholls is having a bad season, again, but there were signs of a revival with Stage Star on Saturday and Don’t Tell Su looks an obvious candidate in the 3:00 at Hereford on chase debut. The horse is a bumper winner, a hurdle winner, but has always looked like the bigger obstacles will see this son of Soldier of Fortune in better light. Hereford isn’t a difficult track to handle and the small field should suit. He can take this before moving up the ladder. Selection: Don’t Tell Su, 1 point win, 3:00 Hereford.

Dancing Colours is a twice raced maiden who looks to be getting the hang of the racing game. She goes in a fillies novice this evening where she only really has one rival of substance – the race favourite Dance In The Storm. Dance In The Storm was fifth on debut at Chelmsford and whilst we will see improvement, the same can be said of our selection who stayed on well at the end of her last race. Track positioning will be key and I’m hoping Callum Shepherd will get first run. Selection: Dancing Colours, 1 point win, 5:30 Wolverhampton.

Our third selection is a 15 race maiden who went off 18/1 last time out and made a terrible jumping error. He did finish third though which was one of his better runs. The horse impressed me in the way he travelled through the race, having been held up off the pace and cutting through the field nicely until the mistake, then staying on strongly again to be a real eye catcher. Drash On Ruby is a nine year old but seems to be improving and is ahead of the handicap mark based on his run last time. Overnight odds of 5/1 seem very fair. Selection, 1 point win, Drash On Ruby, 4:31 Hereford.

Have a one point treble on the above.

Good luck

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.

What is the Daily Trio strategy?

The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!

Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?

Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles.

This is a long term strategy that works – not a get rich quick scheme. Some tipsters claim to have a ‘20/1 banker that can’t lose’ every day, we don’t. This is maintaining a consistent strike rate from our excellent tipster and sticking to an optimised stake system, perfect for having a bet every day without losing a fortune over the year. We also don’t charge – our site is free.
