Our Daily Trio selections for Thursday 23rd January.

Tribal Act was a good winner for us yesterday, hopefully today we can get 3 winners. We have five meetings to choose from including a few grade 1 type horses at Gowran Park.

Quai De Bourbon is a 6-year-old bay gelding, sired by Ivanhowe out of the dam Liberalis. Trained by Willie Mullins and owned by Gigginstown House Stud, this horse has a lot of potential over fences and is sure to improve from his debut 3rd place at Leopardstown. His hurdle form was great, highlighted by his third place in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival. Opponents today are mainly stablemates filling up the field, and we have stable jockey Paul Townend on board. Selection: Quai De Bourbon, 1 point win, 3:23 Gowran Park.

Chart Topper is another Willie Mullins horse, this time travelling over to Wetherby to continue the Patrick Mullins tour. The horse won easily on hurdle debut and hasn’t been seen since. He seems to only have Peso to beat, but I’d expect him to. Willie Mullin’s first runner at Wetherby lost, but Chart Topper can give him his first winner at the track. Selection: Chart Topper, 1 point win, 12:55 Wetherby.

Diamonds Galore improved from its first run, where to say she was considerately handled is an understatement, to run second on New Years Eve. This is an excellent chance for her to get off the mark. I would expect her to win easily to get a bumper under her belt before a summer campaign over hurdles. Selection: Diamonds Galore, 1 point win, 4:13 Huntingdon.

Also have a 1 point treble on the above.

Happy punting

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.

What is the Daily Trio strategy?

The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!

Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?

Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles.
