Our Daily Trio selections for Thursday 30th January
Oisin Murphy made his return to UK racing last night to nab us a 3/1 winner on what in truth was an awful days racing. The highlight of the day was seeing a surprise potential Guineas runner as Opera Ballo absolutely routed the opposition on debut and looks nailed on to be at least a group level horse.
Today’s racing is a lot better than yesterday (Opera Bello aside) and I have quite a few fancies across the cards – see the Daily Tips section for those. I could have picked any three from six strong fancies today, here are the three that made the cut:
Having had a prior run counts for more than people realise in National Hunt bumpers. Our selection showed ability on debut despite running green and is sure to improve significantly for the experience. The Paul Nicholls yard is still under a bit of a cloud but Wincanton is his happy hunting ground and the yard won this race last year. Experience can get Beauty In The Park home in front, for all I expect others in the race to improve past her once they get over hurdles. Selection: Beauty In The Park, 3:55 Wincanton, 1 point win.
Fresh As A Daisy is another with prior experience up against newcomers in a National Hunt bumper. She finished only fifth on debut but she was thought good enough to be pitched into a Listed race first time up. Nicky Henderson must have seen something in her homework to start her off in that race. I expect quite a bit of improvement and that experience may prove the difference between her and Alan King’s newcomer Baby Thyme. Selection: Fresh As A Daisy, 4:25 Wincanton, 1 point win.
Rescue Mission makes her first visit to the racetrack in the 6:00 race. This Kodiak filly is bred to be better than this level and can strike on debut. The current race favourite Diamont Katie looks poor value at even money as I don’t rate the form of her debut fourth at Southwell, for all that she has an obvious chance if ours isn’t fully wound up for debut. The others are beaten before stepping onto the track looking at their form and/or trainers record with debutants. Selection: Rescue Mission, 6:00 Chelmsford, 1 point win.
Also have a 1 point treble.
Happy punting

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.
What is the Daily Trio strategy?
The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!
Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?
Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles.
This is a long term strategy that works – not a get rich quick scheme. Some tipsters claim to have a ‘20/1 banker that can’t lose’ every day, we don’t. This is maintaining a consistent strike rate from our excellent tipster and sticking to an optimised stake system, perfect for having a bet every day without losing a fortune over the year. We also don’t charge – our site is free.
