Our ‘Daily Trio’ selections for 14th January 2025
Tuesday, January 14, 2025, the UK horse racing scene features meetings at Plumpton, Southwell, and Newcastle.
Strong whispers are doing the rounds for Two Auld Pals in Southwell’s 3:22. He has no fears with the two mile trip being a hurdler reverting to the flat, although he is yet to win on the all weather to add to his four victories on turf. He is expected to go well today. Selection: Two Auld Pals, 3:22 Southwell, 5/1, 1 point win. (
Urban Dandy is a bit of an enigma. He ideally needs a strong run race that allows him to pick a way through traffic and be delivered very late on. This running style is asking for trouble, and the horse hasn’t won in his last 22 starts. The 1:52 at Southwell should suit a fast finisher from off the pace, and this could be the day connections get him back in the winners enclosure at a nice price. Selection, Urban Dandy, 1:52 Southwell, 6/1, 1 point win.
The next selection is a big price, so a little bit risky. Nad Alshiba Rain is expected to step up on previous form now hitting handicap company. Michael Appleby’s horse didn’t trouble the judge in her three qualifying runs and should have a bit of room off this opening mark. Luke Morris takes the ride. Expect her to progress into better races than this over time. Selection: Nad Alshiba Rain, 12:52 Southwell, 11/1, 1 point win.
Also have a 1 point treble.
Happy punting

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.
What is the Daily Trio strategy?
The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!
Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?
Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles
