The Daily Trio: 13th March

So close! I got excited when we banged in the first two winners yesterday, but Copacabana never looked like landing a blow in the bumper. We try again…

The first selection is a bit of madness admittedly at a huge price. Rachel Blackmore and Henry De Bromhead are a lethal combination around here and do get winners at big prices. Air Of Entitlement breezed home in a maiden hurdle race at Down Royal on Boxing Day and has seemingly been saved for this since. Initially I fancied Maughreen to win this race, but she has gone for an alarming walk in the market since Patrick Mullins was booked to ride so I went back to the drawing board. Selection: Air of Entitlement, 1:20 Cheltenham, 1 point win.

I fancy Gordon Elliott to win the Stayers Hurdle, but not with Teahupoo. The Wallpark looks like he stays longer than the mother in law. I was impressed by his run here previously where he stayed on strongly late on. There doesn’t seem to be much else in the race with a chance. Selection: The Wallpark, 4:00 Cheltenham, 1 point win.

Regular readers will know I have been watching Cleatus Poolaw for a while. I’m sure there is a big handicap chase in this lad. Today’s ground, distance and pace of the race could be just what he needs. Gordon Elliott could have had a few in this race but relies on our fella. Selection: Cleatus Poolaw, 5:30 Cheltenham, 1 point win.

Also have a 1 point treble.
