The Daily Trio: 3rd April
I absolutely love this meeting. I’ll be there at Aintree and hopefully taking a few quid from the bookies.
Impaire Et Passé I’m praying can get us off to a good start. If you ignore his form in Leopardstown he is nearly unbeatable. He obviously doesn’t perform well at that track. We know he acts around Aintree as he won for us at this meeting last year. First time Cheekpieces go on today, and we know how much they improved State Man at Cheltenham. How this horse isn’t favourite I’ll never know as I can see him thrashing Jango Baie. Selection: Impaire Et Passé, 1:45 Aintree, 1 point win.
Embassy Gardens should love the track and trip in the Bowl. I fancy him to give Townend a great start to the meeting after Impaire Et Passé. Grey Dawning only beat a horse having a prep run in Iroko last time and people are hyping it up a bit too much. Ahoy Senor could set off an hour early and still wouldn’t win. Djelo showed zilch last time. Gaelic Warrior has ability and would be the choice if ridden by Townend but was rejected for our lad. Selection: Embassy Gardens, 2:55 Aintree, 1 point win.
My Mate Mozzie looked to run well at Cheltenham I thought and can go well again in the 4:40. Gavin Cromwell is a good trainer and this isn’t the strongest of races. Assuming Cheltenham didn’t leave its toll I’d expect him to go close. Selection: My Mate Mozzie, 4:40 Aintree, 1 point win.
Also have a 1 point treble.
