Free Daily Tips: 13th February
We managed six winners yesterday with West To The Bridge the big priced highlight.
The quality of racing steps up slightly today with quite a few attractive bets across the cards.
Sandown
1:20 Jackpot D’ainay. Got off the mark on Boxing Day and goes into handicaps today where he looks fairly treated.
1:55 Xcitations. A course and distance winner who has been out of form for a while. Would carry these if anything like his best. First time headgear goes on today and it’s a small field which could suit.
2:30 Mummy Derry. An intriguing race where all the runners will fancy their chances. This horse horse went in my notebook after a second at Navan last year with a note ‘will be a force in novice hurdles’. This is a tough place to start but I quite fancy her.
3:05 Farceur Du Large. I expected a much shorter price for this one. He didn’t get a good ride last time out it’s fair to say and should have finished much closer to Fil D’ariane if not won. He gets a 5lb swing in the weights here so really should beat Fil D’ariane home. Frenchy Du Large ran a stinker last time out and I can’t back him after that. Roccovango has won four of its last six races but I think this will be tougher.
3:40 Le Tiep’s Sacre. Has a handy weight for age allowance and was a £150k buy after showing promise in France. This is an open goal.
4:12 Heros. Not the best race you will ever see. A chance is taken on Heros who could have needed its return run back from a break.
4:45 Dangerous Touch. Improved to win at Ffos Las last time and can shoulder a 7lb penalty.
Newcastle
1:05 Double Digits. Can take a step forward from his 4th on hurdles debut at this track.
1:40 Armed And Fabulous. This seven year old sticks to maiden hurdles instead of going handicapping which is interesting, they obviously feel she has one of these in her. Has been off the track a long time but could have loads in hand here. Green Sky wasn’t deemed good enough for the Joseph O’Brien yard and to me looks a false favourite.
2:15 Willie Shake Hands. Benefit Ben is likely to set off at a brisk pace which will set up the race for a closer. Willie Shake Hands could travel into this strongly if in the form of his Doncaster run.
2:50 Yealand. Pretty good start to its chasing career and can get the better of hat trick seeking Rattling Road.
3:25 My Friend Yeats. Better since headgear was fitted and has a good chance of gaining a win today.
4:00 Flash Du Pistolet. There is definitely a win or two in this horse. He has shown promise on more than one occasion and would have gone close at Catterick but for a few jumping errors. With a clear round I think Flash Du Pistolet has a favourites chance at an outsiders price.
4:30 Dramatic License. Sets a good standard for a bumper at this course. Comes up against a few newcomers who we know nothing about, but they will have to be good to beat this one first time out assuming he shows the form of his Downpatrick run.
Leicester
1:30 River Run Free. It will be a shock if this horse fails to double up, he only has to repeat the form of last week and he wins even easier against this lot.
2:05 Lazy Sunday. Hasn’t won for over a year but his form puts him top of the pile here. The run when second over C&D last time out would entitle him to win today.
2:40 Just Over Land. Very well weighted compared to the others in this race. Has won over two miles so the drop in trip shouldn’t be a problem and is a very nice price to win today under Sam Twiston-Davies.
3:15 Largy Force. If he doesn’t win here, he may never win under rules again. This is a penalty kick.
3:49 Gwennie May Jem. Was slowly improving over hurdles and now goes over fences. This five year old has more scope than her rivals and is nicely weighted.
4:19. Mr Glass. Looks the clear form pick, obvious choice.
Clonmel
12:35 Karamoja. This horse has the potential to be a player in graded races so should be capable of opening her account here. The price is good considering the strong chance I think she has, as Twentyfourcarrot and Reina Del Mar will have their backers.
1:10 Sionainn. Stablemate to the race favourite Addragoole. Reasonable introduction at Fairyhouse and can step forward.
1:45 Ballygunner Castle. Looked a weak finisher last time out but this will be a game of cat and mouse and I’d guess he won’t need the staying power, more of a turn of pace in a tactical race.
2:40 Gimme A Buzz. Has been brought along slowly and is getting ready to strike now following a good run at this course last time.
2:55 Voice Of Reason. I wouldnt bet on this race if someone gave me £100 free, I’d go to the bar or study for the next race. For what it’s worth I’d back Voice Of Reason if I had a gun to my head.
3:30 Chainofconsequence. Good run over fences at this track last time and switches to hurdles here. Should be involved in the finish.
4:05 Zurich. Handicaps should suit this mare and she clearly has more scope for improvement than any other horse in this race. The overnight price of 6/1 is a cracking price.
4:35 Banprionsa. After a spell of poor form Henry De Bromhead can kick start a revival to leave the yard confident of their horses health ahead of the Cheltenham Festival. should win this beginners chase.
Chelmsford
4:25 Alright Sunshine. Ran an excellent race but was run out of things late on a week ago. Could have these in trouble with a mid race kick for home.
5:00 Tilsworth Ony Ta. Could be allowed to dominate from the front, will be a danger to all with a soft lead.
5:30 Dashing Harry. Runs under a penalty for his Lingfield win. This is a tougher race but those ahead of him in the betting haven’t been troubling a judge recently.
6:00 Noble Victory. Really should win hard held, but the odds reflect that.
6:30 Lessay. Trainer Ed Dunlop is firmly on the cold list. So far this year he has had just 18 runners with 18 losers, only two runners placed. This horse was third though and Rossa Ryan has been booked to ride. It has a good chance of winning today but the trainer form makes me nervous.
7:00 Maid Of Killybegs. Showed enough improvement at Wolverhampton last time to get me quite interested here. Polytrack debut but great chance nonetheless.
7:30 Baileys Honeymoon. Trainer had his first winner this week and the second can follow quite quickly.
8:00 Magical Treasure. This will be a key maiden to track for winners on the grass in the summer, a few of these could go on to be good animals. Magical Treasure isn’t the race favourite here, or even the most fancied from her own yard, but gets my vote. She is a £575,000 Sea The Stars filly, enormous potential. She comes up against stablemate Pearl of Hope who has experience including a second in a Kempton maiden last time but I’d be disappointed if Magical Treasure wasn’t a better grade of horse. Praying for Time & Likealot will also win races on grass I’d expect.
8:30 Solanna. We can go out with a winning favourite in the last as Solanna is in form recently and the others aren’t. Let’s not complicate it.
Happy punting
