Kickthebookies is the analytical layer of horse racing: the statistics, prices and records behind a race, shown plainly so you can make your own call.

It is not a tipping site — we show you the evidence and trust you with the decision. This page is the index of everything we have built to help you read a race: how the site works, the archive behind it, the guides, and the tools.

How KTB works

Four things, and the record behind each of them. The whole site in one read — where the numbers come from, what each figure means and the rules we keep — is on How Kickthebookies works.

The racecard

Every race in Britain and Ireland, every day: each runner’s form, the prices on offer best-first, and our own figures beside them. From any runner, open the horse, the trainer, the jockey and the course.

Today’s racecards

The KTB Fit Score

Our score for how well each runner fits today’s race, worked out every morning from its stored record and today’s conditions. The top-ranked runner in each race is logged against the result, win or lose, so the method’s record is public.

How it works · The record

KTB Rating and KTB Speed

Our own measure of each horse’s ability, and our own figure for how fast it actually ran, computed from the official record and published only once they had passed their tests — which are on their pages, losers included. One race a day shows both for the whole field, free.

Honest numbers

Every statistic carries its sample (“from 212 runs”) and when it was counted. Fair A/E — actual wins against what the prices expected, with the bookmaker’s margin removed — is read against its price band, never on its own. Nothing tells you what to back.

Fair A/E explained · How the site is run

Every term, explained

The glossary defines every racing and betting term the site uses in plain English — the overround, Rule 4, a nursery, the going, our own figures — each at its own address, so any word on any page is one tap from its meaning: /glossary/#overround.

The archive

The record is the point. Everything on the site is computed from it, and it grows every day.

Results since 2005

Every race in Britain, Ireland and France from 2 January 2005 to today, with every runner, the result and the starting price, and our figures written against it. Browse by date, meeting or race.

Common questions

Where should I start?

If you are new to racing, with Betting basics: it explains a price, every bet type and the terms on a racecard once each. If you already bet, with today’s racecards — the form, the prices best-first and our figures are all on one page.

Does Kickthebookies give tips?

No. We show the statistics, prices and records behind a race and leave the decision to you. Where a selection appears it is the output of a published method, shown with its complete record, win or lose.

Is the site free?

Everything you can read today is free: the racecards, results, the archive since 2005, the odds comparison, the tools and every guide. The KTB Rating and KTB Speed figures for a whole field are free in Today’s Open Race, one race a day.

Where do your figures come from?

Race records, form and results come from the official record through a licensed racing data provider; prices come from the bookmakers we list. Every figure with a KTB name is computed by us from that record, by a method we publish, with its test on the page.
