Free Daily Tips: 14th February

Yesterdays tips included winners Karamoja, Xcitations, River Run Free, Armed & Fabulous, Yealand, Noble Victory and Solanna.

Today we may see a few bigger prices winners with a bit of luck.

Kelso

1:50 Both Barrels. Won a C&D handicap on his last visit here and will improve for his reappearance run at Ayr.

2:20 Blazer Two. Doubts about the two market principles and a chance is taken that Lucinda Russell’s outsider can settle better than his previous run and outrun his odds.

2:50 Coniston George. Consistent at this track, fairly weighted, could have the beating of race favourite Wise Eagle who has won easily twice but starts life in handicap company today.

3:20 Imagine. This season hasn’t gone to plan so far but today’s rivals and small field can play to his strengths. Should find this much easier.

3:50 Gaillimh A Stor. I’m not sold on the Wetherby form of Grand Albert for all he did win very easily, or the form of Myretown who also won at Wetherby before falling at Windsor. I’d rather back Gaillimh A Stor who is still unexposed over fences. The risk is his jumping as he has tried chasing three times and fell twice, but the engine is there with a clean round and he is in form with two recent second places over hurdles.

4:20 Primoz. If there was a third horse in the race I’d probably back that, but there isn’t and it’s a straight match between Primoz and Escapeandevade. Primoz has much better recent form as Escapeandevade looks to be regressing.

4:50 Wild Reiver. The oldest in this line up of relative newbies and needed the experience first time out. Has since has a breathing operation.

Fakenham

1:38 Elysian Knight. Escapologist and Aviation renew rivalries on revised terms. Escapologist won last time but Aviation now gets a 5lb pull. That match will be quite close, but both of them may get a view of Elysian Knight’s rear end at the finish as the form of his Ffos Las win last time looks strong.

2:08 Moviddy. Fancied to open her chasing account after a good run over C&D last time. The others will need to show improvement on recent form to be involved. It’s not a race for high stakes.

2:38 Addosh. Didn’t get the job done when third at Sedgefield last week but showed enough to be of strong interest here. Has the similarly frustrating Tara Iti to beat.

3:08 Edgewell. A race with three last time out winners, but Edgewell looked to have plenty in hand when winning at Southwell eleven days ago and would have carried 7lb extra there no problem.

3:40 Lyrical Genius. Hasn’t won in eighteen starts but this is a golden opportunity. Ran okay to be third at Uttoxeter last time. The Cheekpieces go on, Sean Bowen gets the ride, and the race should be easier.

4:10 Kefir D’oudairies. This horse is no star but should beat this lot, even with the odds on favourite Naval Tribute lining up. Kefir D’oudairies made a promising start to his racing career when second in a bumper at Hereford and can go one better today. Naval Tribute has a similar profile but seems to be heavily backed because of who trains him and that he is a son of Sea The Stars. Kefir D’oudairies has to give away weight but is an older stronger horse.

4:40 Frere D’Armes. Won a similar hunter chase last week and I see no reason why the horse won’t win again today against a poor field.

Southwell

1:00 Masterofgreygoose. An open race. Masterofgreygoose caught my eye with a rather gentle ride when fifth at Lingfield and can lose his maiden tag given no traffic problems.

1:30 Margot Robbie. Lovely to look at, great mover, fantastic attributes, a ride everyone wants. Anyway, enough about the actress. The horse didn’t look above ordinary in four starts but is well bred and makes handicap debut today following a break. Good chance if tuned up.

2:00 Crocus Time. A 21 race maiden who will be a nice price today. I thought his last run was good, blinkered first time but hit traffic at a crucial stage when 4th at Chelmsford. Career low mark to play with.

2:30 Blazing Spirit. Too keen on debut but will have learned a lot. The hood goes in today and may be suited by the all weather surface.

3:00 Farasi Lane. Will be a big outsider but is a course and distance winner that has dropped to a mark lower than when last successful.

3:30 Lezardrieux. Ran well to be second at Newcastle five days ago and the step up in trip should be fine. I’m surprised it’s a double figure price.

4:00 Crystal Guard. Outsider. On a fair mark and Havlin rides Southwell excellently.

4:30 Counsel. Has to carry a double penalty but is in good form and can win his third race in a week.

Newcastle

4:57 Powerful Response. 12 runs since last win but is a previous course winner and doesn’t look badly treated today.

5:30 Manton Road. Looks a good thing if turned out again just two days after his Kempton run.

6:00 Blackjack. Ran well at the course ten days ago and the visor goes on.

6:30 Tuscan Star. Comceded first run but still managed to win at Southwell. Stronger form than Noble Testimony who conceded first run but didn’t manage to win at this course last time.

7:00 Urban Dandy. Frustrating horse who often runs into traffic before flashing home late. Meets a frustrating rider who often runs into traffic before flashing home late. It’s a horse and jockey partnership made in either heaven or hell, I can’t decide. But I am backing it. Even if it is 25 runs since its last victory. It could work spectacularly well.

7:30 Lerwick. Credible second place in first time blinkers last time out, Billy the kid Loughnane is riding, looks to have a strong chance.

8:00 Papa Cocktail. Checked in his run last time when going well and can gain compensation here in the lucky last.

Happy punting
