Our Daily Trio selections for Tuesday 28th January

Maughreen made an encouraging reappearance yesterday and enhanced her claims for the Cheltenham Festival. We have her at 5/1 antepost which is starting to look good.

Today is much lower quality than Cheltenham that’s for sure. The racing is low grade and not worth getting too excited about, but I think I have found a few horses with a great chance.

Soir De Garde looks to be a certainty today – if getting a run. He is first reserve for the 2:35 at Limerick and the current even money will look very generous. Rightly or wrongly, he doesn’t make todays three.

Granny Hawkins isn’t well fancied in the market at between 16/1 – 14/1 overnight. She comes up against a heavy odds on favourite in Dan Skelton’s Queens Wish who has quite obvious chances. Queens Wish won easily last time and has an 8lb penalty to carry here. It wasn’t the best race she won and at the likely odds I’m opposing her. Granny Hawkins hasn’t set the world alight so far but I have seen enough to think she will win races. She was hampered last time when 7th and will improve. She will be a different proposition in handicaps but today is a winnable race. Selection: Granny Hawkins, 3:52 Chepstow, 1 point win.

Big Cadillac makes its racecourse debut in the next race and fetched £94k last year at the sales. He won his only start in the pointing sphere and I’ll be backing him to win here as well. The current race favourite is David Pipe’s Gentleman Toboot, who won at Fontwell last time and carries a penalty. Today is a tougher race even without the penalty. Selection: Big Cadillac, 4:24 Chepstow, 1 point win.

Cherry King has been consistent in recent runs, but consistently finishing in second place. First time cheekpieces didn’t get the job done last time but did seem to bring improvement. Today’s field is a fantastic chance for the horse to finally get its head back in front. The opposition is weak and inconsistent and that’s being polite. Selection: Cherry King, 6:00 Wolverhampton, 1 point win.

Don’t forget a 1 point treble.

Happy punting

Mav

Points? How do I bet? Simply think of a point as your preferred unit stake. If you want to bet in £10s then you would have 3x £10 wins and an £10 treble.

What is the Daily Trio strategy?

The proven betting system and recommended bet is three singles and a treble. As a rough rule of thumb: one winner = money back, two winners = double your money, three winners = jackpot!

Why does the Daily Trio strategy work?

Mav operates at roughly a 33% strike rate for winners over the year, so around one in three selections win. Assuming each winner is 3/1 on average (some are much higher) then each year we should see money back at least based on purely the single bets alone, and the profit comes from the trebles.

This is a long term strategy that works – not a get rich quick scheme. Some tipsters claim to have a ‘20/1 banker that can’t lose’ every day, we don’t. This is maintaining a consistent strike rate from our excellent tipster and sticking to an optimised stake system, perfect for having a bet every day without losing a fortune over the year. We also don’t charge – our site is free.
