Free Daily Tips: 5th February

Another positive day yesterday as we tipped a 33/1 winner in Seahouses (early price 66/1), amongst others.

We have four meetings to go at today in our quest for winners.

Fairyhouse

12:55 Iris Emery. Willie Mullins has the top five in the betting here including the odds on shot Paggane. I don’t think there is much between Iris Emery and Paggane so I’m going with the one that is a much bigger price.

1:25 Duffys Getaway. Okay over hurdles but showed little over fences last time. The horse is better than that.

1:55 Fil Dor. Has always looked to me that he needs a trip to be seen at his best. Steps up to 3m today.

2:25 Ballysax Hank. First run for Gavin Cromwell and wouldnt have to improve much to figure.

2:55 Good To Be Alive. Bred to be more of a stayer but has a fair chance of winning this if Legionnaire Forez doesn’t meet expectation.

3:25 Place De La Nation. Intriguing newcomer brought over from France. Weighted with 10st1, the fav and stablemate Karoline Banbou has 11st7 to carry.

3:55 Mickie Angel. Likely to be ridden slightly more conservative than when going off in front too fast last time. Drops in trip which will suit.

4:25 Next Stop Paris. Next stop winners enclosure hopefully. Wasn’t given a hard time in finishing seventh last time, connections took it easy on the horse to put it politely. Steps up in trip for handicap debut.

Ludlow

1:45 Kotgar. Will be a big priced outsider but I fancy taking on Viyanni.

2:15 Hit For Sixty. Will get better with racing and is one for handicaps but 40/1 caught my eye in what isn’t a strong race.

2:45 Simple Getaway. Bought for £180k to make a chaser and goes chasing today. Some promise over hurdles without looking a world beater, but fences will be a new proposition.

3:15 King Of Records. Chances simply as I’m not backing a 1/5 shot in Vanderpoel.

3:45 Can You Call. Fairly consistent type who looks well treated in this contest. Has to beat a horse that is half his age in the race favourite Superbolt who is on a hat trick but I think he is up to it.

4:15 Sweet Magic. Looked a good horse when second to a heavily backed runner on Boxing Day at Aintree. Goes up in the weights by 3lb as a result but can shed the maiden tag here with a repeat.

4:45 Jimmy The Digger. Not much between all the runners in this small field and I think Jimmy The Digger is overpriced.

Sedgefield

1:35 Ridin Solo. I always like to take on a Bryan Hughes favourite as I think he isn’t riding very well at all, but this horse really should win. It would probably win with me riding it and I’m 13 stone. 11/8 looks fair.

2:05 The Questioner. Promising run at Wetherby and can build on that now he is race fit. Steps up in trip which will suit his running style. I’d prefer this race was over fences for him, but it’s very winnable.

2:35 Master Breffni. Looked home and hosed before stopping like he was shot on the run in at Catterick. He looked a good horse until that point and very nearly got the job done. This isn’t a better race, and he can make amends for that near miss.

3:05 Lone Star. This is one of the worst races I have looked at for a long time. They are all out of form and showing very little. I’ll go with Lone Star simply as he is the best horse in the race on a going day.

3:35 Benefit Ben. Not very good last time but drops in trip, goes back over hurdles, and on goes the visor. Could try and front run under a capable jockey.

4:05 I’m Too Tired. Not a good run last time out but his Sedgefield record is good and he can go well back at this venue.

4:35 Addosh. The more I look at this race the more I think Addosh is overpriced. Fitness not an issue after a recent prep run at Southwell on the flat. Hurdles form looks good in the context of this race. Capable jockey taking off 5lb. Others in the race are long standing maidens.

Kempton

5:00 The Spotlight Kid. Fair second despite not getting the run of the race last time out. Has a great chance.

5:30 Olivia Jane. Has a good chance on the form of her debut run but threw in a stinker last time over C&D. It surprises me that connections come back here. If she shows her Wolverhampton form then she can put it up to the odds on favourite Blue Wonder.

6:00 Middleton View. You would think Berkshire Whisper would win this race 8 times out of 10, but at the odds I’m chancing Middleton View. The horse was down the field twice when showing nothing last year. He has since been gelded and off the track for a long time. Connections think there is potential there still.

6:30 Harry Did. Harry Didn’t at Southwell where he would have won if starting his run earlier last time out. This is a very compettive handicap considering the grade, but the presence of the others will ensure we get a fair price on ours.

7:00 Enpassant. Not reliable but simply wins this if running to its mark.

7:30 Cello. Course winner up against a few unreliable types.

8:00 Always Waving. Not much between Always Waving and Kinetic so I looked at jockeys. Would I rather have Warren Fentiman claiming 7lb, or Oisin Murphy. Easy decision.

Happy punting
