Free Daily Tips: 7th February

A few winners yesterday with Ginger Jonny (4/1), Califet En Voi (5/4), Shearer (11/4), and Stone of Destiny (7/1) to go with the 12 non runners from Doncaster and Thurles (meetings abandoned).

Lingfield

1:02 Etretat. Has been running well and holding form in recent weeks which goes a long way in this type of contest. Scored over course and distance on his last run here.

1:32 Enchanted Way. Shaped like she needed the run after a long time off the track last time at this track and can improve on that showing. Archie Watson goes for first time cheekpieces. The race favourite This Far has a fair chance but I wasn’t impressed by his third at Wolverhampton and fancy Holly Doyle’s mount to come out on top.

2:02 Counsel. The form of his last five runs hasn’t been good, but back at this track in a small field I think he can get home in front under the sniper Luke Morris.

2:32 Tyrrhenian Sea. A race fit Maljoom would be 1/3 on for this race, but Tyrrhenian Sea has the benefit of a recent run in a listed race over course and distance and might have a sharpness edge today.

3:02 How Impressive. Has struggled recently but won this last year and is a 22/1 shot at the overnight prices to win it again.

3:35 She Went Whoosh. The form is good in comparison to rivals and she steps out of a nursery to make her polytrack debut. She is sired by Profitable so let’s hope she lives up to his name.

4:05 Watermelon Sugar. This is an awful race to tell the truth. Not one for maximum stakes. Watermelon Sugar is a C&D winner who appeared to be coming back to form when third last time out.

4:40 Emily Rebecca. Has had three runs over an unsuitable trip to qualify for handicaps and surprise surprise steps up in trip for handicap debut. Seems to have a better chance than the betting suggests.

Bangor

1:12 Lord Du Mesnil. Has the handicap of carrying David Maxwell around for three miles but aside from that Lord Du Mesnil is much the best horse in this race. Returned from a wind operation when fourth last time and should be fully wound up now.

1:42 Lagonda. I wasn’t convinced by the race favourite Micks Jet’s wide margin win at Wetherby a few weeks ago as the race fell apart. This will be tougher and he steps up in trip also. Lagonda hasn’t won over fences yet but has been running well over the winter and has conditions to suit.

2:12 Animal. Should be a big price, showing at 16/1 overnight. Animal put in some dismal runs towards the end of last season and was pulled up on seasonal return last time out. The horse has ability though and trainer Suzy Smith has booked Sean Bowen for the ride.

2:42 Big Ginge. Has finished second in four races in a row now, but did run to a good standard. Sticks to a novice hurdle here and has a cracking chance. I think Laganhill’s win is overrated and would make Big Ginge the favourite myself, especially with a 7lb claimer taking weight off.

3:15 Falco Des Pins. Will be a huge price here because he has shown no ability in the UK yet. It’s still early days and this French horse (ran second at Angers last March) should improve. I’ll be chancing it for Venetia Williams.

3:50 Visual Impact. £100k buy after a promising point to point but hasn’t lived up to expectation so far. Ran on well to be second last time out, her best run so far. Handicap debut and a good 7lb claimer aboard.

4:25 Miss Pearl. Needed the run back from a break last time out. Interesting if the market speaks in her favour.

Kempton

12:50 Epinephrine. Looked to have potential over in France but hasn’t replicated that in two runs for Venetia. Handicap hurdle debut today which could see her in better light, for all that she wants fences eventually.

1:20 Indemnity. Weak race where the odds on shot High Fibre doesn’t set a high standard. Indemnity was bought for £80k and wouldn’t have to be a superstar to win this maiden hurdle.

1:50 Juventus De Brion. Should have won before now but hasn’t finished his races off strongly. Has Kingston Prode to beat who was pulled up last time so you can’t have confidence in him either. The Skeltons will get a win out of this one soon and today could be the day.

2:20 Onethreefivenotout. Has always looked like a staying chase will bring out the best in him. Was sixth on chasing debut but should improve in what is a very open race.

2:50 Thunderclap. Won this race last year and had a warm up for this race two weeks ago.

3:25 Straw Fan Jack. Has been campaigned ambitiously and above his ability level over the last few years. This race is much more like it and I’m surprised he is a double figure price.

3:58 Vol Royale. Will be a massive price on debut. Won last time out in points. We don’t know much about most of the field but I think this one is overpriced.

4:33 Old Park Star. Good enough start with a third on debut, will improve and should be favourite.

Southwell

4:10 Tropez Power. Three time course winner who should improve from a poor effort a few weeks ago on his comeback from a break.

4:45 Come On John. Very consistent and the cheekpieces come back. Good chance.

5:15 Broker Charlie. Comes against a heavy odds on shot in Tremorgio. Will improve now up in trip.

5:45 Tyke. Three time course and distance winner. Cheekpieces on first time.

6:15 Cyclonite. Ran on well to be third at Newcastle last time and can take this with a repeat.

6:45 Neptune Legend. Excellent second last time out when pulling clear with the winner and should be up to winning this.

7:15 Lil Wade. 25 race maiden with very little form of note. 100/1 last time out. I hear better is expected tonight.

7:45 Carey Street. Should bounce back from a poor run last time. Rossa Ryan takes the ride.

8:15 Urban Dandy. Has ran poorly for a while now but this fast finisher steps back up to an optimum trip.

Happy punting
