Free Horse Racing Tips: 28th February
Today we cover the four English meetings: Newbury, Southwell, Ffos Las, and Lingfield.
Newbury
2:13 French Symphony. Lightly raced maiden, first time visor can bring about improvement.
2:48 Give It To Me Oj. The obvious choice and should win this on all known form.
3:23 The Good Doctor. Is yet to win from three starts over fences but has ran second twice, form which gives him leading chances in this weak race.
3:58 Dyno Dave. Showed some potential when fifth on debut and will be a big price here. Wasn’t given a hard time first time up so there is improvement there.
4:33 Ballybreeze. One of two in the race for Sam Drinkwater and is the mount of Sean Bowen, suggesting he’s no forlorn hope.
5:05 Champagne Twist. Disappointing so far this season but last seasons form would see him a short priced favourite here. Needs to bounce back but has ability.
Ffos Las
2:35 Followango. Yet to score over hurdles but this looks a penalty kick. Steps up in trip which should unlock improvement.
3:10 Blackacre. Reverts to hurdling from chasing, but is yet to score over hurdles. That can change as this is a weak race.
3:45 Dreams Of Diamonds. Great chance based on his excellent run at this course last time out. Consistent.
4:20 Fame And Fun. Won easily on his last time over fences. Not so good over hurdles last time but has a chance returned to chasing.
4:55 Atreides. A maiden who ran a career best at this course when second in November. Can go well returned to this venue.
5:25 The Hawkstonian. I’m one of the syndicate involved in this horse and connections are confident of an improved showing. The wind op should bring out the best in him and Ben is disappointed this horse hasn’t got his head in front already. He’s in the best place we have had him.
Lingfield
1:55 Bearaway. Strong chance based on recent form. Leading chance.
2:25 Aramis Grey. Runner up in this race last year and a solid start for new trainer last time. Can go one better this year.
3:00 Coul Angel. Handicap debut but the run last time was good and could be let in on an okay mark.
3:35 The Thames Boatman. His chance depends on traffic problems. If a clear run, he should win.
4:10 Ted Hastings. Rare flat runner at this course for Gordon Elliott. Tom Marquand rides.
4:45 Penzance. Fantastic form last year and can resume progress here. Looks to be a good price.
5:20 Witch Hunter. Group winner in 23, has been running in better races than this one. Third in the Balmoral at Ascot last time. If fit – can outclass his rivals.
Southwell
4:40 Mumayaz. A four time C&D winner that has a chance again in an open race.
5:15 San Juanito. Had the three runs to get a handicap mark and could start off with a win at a fair weight.
5:45 Bozeman. Ralph Beckett gelding who showed promise on debut. Looks to have a leading chance with that experience under its belt.
6:15 Three Yorkshiremen. Handicap mark sliding down and despite no recent form he isn’t completely out of this at a huge price.
6:45 Mereside Madness. Last two runs have been solid and has a strong chance again here.
7:15 Lexington Knight. Needs to bounce back from a sub par effort last time but that’s possible, and if he does then some of his form entitles him to be bang there at the finish.
7:45 Lady Vivian. Promising debut, looks to have Godolphin’s Tribal Act to beat, but that horse looks disappointing. Up in trip significantly.
8:15 Due Respect. Lightly raced and yet to win, could be the type to improve on this surface.
Happy punting
