Kickthebookies is the analytical layer of horse racing — the statistics, prices and records behind every race, shown plainly so you can make your own call. This page is our privacy policy. Today’s racecards
This policy explains what personal information Kickthebookies collects, why, and what your rights are. The short version: we collect very little. The site works without an account, sets only essential cookies, uses a visit counter that does not identify you, and never sells or shares your information for advertising.

Who we are
Kickthebookies (kickthebookies.com) is operated by Kickthebookies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16740091, whose business address is 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. What we collect and why

We do not collect your date of birth, your bets, your bookmaker accounts or your bank details, and we have no way of seeing what you do on a bookmaker’s site after you leave ours.
Accounts and Pro (when they open)
Kickthebookies currently works without an account. When accounts and the paid Pro subscription open, this section will apply and we will say so on the site:
- Account — your email address, a password (stored only as a one-way hash we cannot read), and anything you choose to save in your account such as a watchlist, alerts or tracked bets. Used to run the features you asked for.
- Pro subscription — payments are taken by Stripe, a regulated payment provider. Stripe collects your card or wallet details directly; we never see or store your card number. We receive from Stripe what we need to run your subscription: your email, the plan, its status and dates, the country used for VAT, and a reference for your receipts. Stripe’s own policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
- Email we send — account messages (confirmations, password resets, receipts) and any alerts you switch on. Nothing promotional unless you ask for it, and every optional email has an unsubscribe link.
Our legal basis
Under the UK GDPR we rely on: legitimate interests for the logs, security and visit counts (running a safe, working site — none of it identifies you to us); performance of a contract for anything you ask us to do, such as answering a message, running an account or a subscription; and legal obligation where the law requires us to keep records, for example of payments. We do not use consent as a basis for anything on the site today because we set nothing that needs it; if that changes, we will ask first.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers. The only organisations that handle it are the services that run the site, each under a contract that limits what they may do with it:
- Our hosting provider (Cloudways) and content delivery network (Cloudflare), which carry the site’s traffic and keep the security logs.
- Plausible Analytics, for anonymous visit counts.
- When Pro opens: Stripe for payments, and an email delivery service for account messages.
Bookmaker links on the site open the bookmaker’s own website. Some are affiliate links: the bookmaker may tell us that an account was opened through a link so that we can be paid a commission. They do not tell us who you are, and we do not tell them anything about you. What you give a bookmaker is governed by that bookmaker’s privacy policy, not this one.
We will disclose information if the law requires it, for example to a court or a regulator, and only what is required.
Where it is stored
The site runs on servers operated by our hosting provider and is delivered through Cloudflare’s network. Where a provider processes information outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards the UK GDPR allows, such as an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Security and server logs: a short rolling period set by the hosting and network providers, typically days to a few weeks.
- Messages you send us: for as long as the conversation needs, then deleted.
- Account and subscription records (when they open): for as long as the account exists, then deleted within a reasonable period; payment records for the six years tax law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive a copy in a usable format, and to complain. Email mav@kickthebookies.com and we will respond within one month. Because the site today holds almost nothing that identifies you, the honest answer to a request is often that we hold nothing beyond a message you sent us. If you are unhappy with how we handle a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We set essential cookies and browser storage only, and no advertising or tracking cookies. What each one does is set out in our cookie policy.
Under-18s
Kickthebookies is for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will change this policy when the site changes — in particular when accounts and Pro open. The date below is updated each time, and a material change is announced on the site.
